Argentine-born Alessandro Raina released The Puritans EP in mid-December, his first work as Casador, having previously had both solo works as a member of Giardini de Mirò in Italy, where he now resides. As Casador, he has opened shows for Wilco, Sparklehorse, and Ra Ra Riot.

“Basically,” he says, “I write songs where I admit that I might be wrong.” I can add that the songs are delicate introspections with lovely melondies carried on Alessandro’s clear vocals. On his MySpace page next to “Sounds Like” he has simply inserted a photo of a flock of birds taking off–which is oddly accurate. His music sounds fresh, heart-lifting, and natural all at once. On first hearing the two songs, I bought the EP immediately, I was that impressed. See if you don’t feel the same.
