I work on-call editing scientific reports, and when the work comes it usually arrives in big chunks on a short deadline. Then all other priorities get shoved aside until the job is done. The work requires so much attention and focus that I can’t even listen to music while I’m doing it.

When it’s is over, I emerge to the wreckage of all I abandoned in the meantime–laundry, cleaning, shopping, blogging. These two songs by Quitzow, a one-woman project by amazing New York songwriter Erica Quitzow (photo below), have an eerie relevance.
