I went to my first show of 2009 last night and first one since Aimee Mann’s Christmas concert in December. I’ll have more about that soon. Since going to shows involves an overnight stay in the big city, I’m actually writing this yesterday.
Contrast Podcast #150 should be up sometime today, with a theme inviting participants to reveal secrets and fantasies. Although in the past two weeks I haven’t participated in the podcast due to just plain not having enough time to do everything I want to do (a familiar blogger complaint), I couldn’t resist giving away not just one but two secrets in my contribution this week. You’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out what they are. You might recognize the background music in my podcast intro by its familiar melody. It’s Robbie Dupree’s “Steal Away”–in Spanish!

The song I finally selected as best to go along with my secret was this wonderful cover that Cyndi Lauper originally made famous (actually written by Robert Hazard). Russian Red is the performing name of Lourdes Hernandez, a Spanish beauty from Madrid with the voice of an angel.

I am glad you like the idea! I bet we can get a couple more gals to go in and make it even cheaper. Meanwhile, I have a computer to fix. I’m bummed.
