Finally Friday: Lotsa Luck

Welcome to some new sites on the blogroll that I can see are going to expand my musical horizons:

The 405 features a mixture of music, film, and art reviews. Recent album reviews include The Boy Least Likely To’s The Law of the Playground and Bell Orchestre’s As Seen Through Windows.

Side One Track One also seems to have very similar taste to mine but knows a whole slew of bands I never heard of. Check out songs by Viva Voce, Alligators, Blue Rabbit, and Hungry Villagers, for example. He also posted a song by Jack White’s new outfit, The Dead Weather. Man, Jack White can do no wrong!

We All Want Someone To Shout For posted a brand new track from Silversun Pickups coming release, Swoon, and it is everything we’ve been waiting for. With any luck, I’ll be snatching up tickets for SSPU’s show in my area.

Based in Santa Cruz, Charles at Heartache With Hard Work shares his opinions on all kinds of things, from music to politics, TV, and sports. He also features bands I don’t know but like immediately.

Sandy at Slowcoustic introduces me to the excellent Elephant Micah (wow) and like me, is featuring some SXSW bands. There are enough of those for everybody!

I’m looking forward to exploring the eclectic taste of Hits In the Car too.

Here’s to good luck instead of bad on Friday the 13th!
