Does anyone besides myself and Alexei Perry (Dan’s wife and Handsome Furs bandmate) think Dan Boeckner is sexy? Sure, he’s as skinny and taut as one of his own guitar strings, but what attracts me is his intensity. We’ve seen that intensity at Wolf Parade concerts (September 2007 at the Glass House and July 2008 at the Henry Fonda), and it’s captured in this video of “I’m Confused” from Handsome Furs’ recently released second CD Face Control.

I don’t know which repulses me most, zombies or spit, but there’s plenty of both in this video, which I first saw yesterday at Brendan Losch’s blog, Count Me Out. What makes you want to watch it more than once are the lean plot line and scalpel-sharp editing of this four-minute horror film, the surprisingly good acting by Perry and Boeckner, and Dan’s laser-like intensity.

When Zombie Dan picks up Alexei’s scarf and fills his lungs with her scent, oh man, that is more titillating than porn. Another favorite part is Dan’s superhuman leap into a tree. And watch Alexei tremble as she realizes what she must sacrifice for love.
