Check out Grand Lake, an Oakland, CA, band featuring ex-Port O’Brien member Caleb Nichols (vocals, bass), Jameson Swanagon (guitar), Erika Pipkin (vocals, keys), and Ryan Parks (singer-songwriter of No’S, drums). Their full-length debut Nevermint was released today on bay area label 500 Records.

You have to pay attention to their low-key style to catch Nichols’ chuckle-worthy lyrics like these from a musical exchange with Pipkin in “She’s a Hater”: “Fuck no, you won’t be at my wedding…See you on Craigslist, I’m betting.”
