Finally Friday: Photo Gallery Debut

Blog Gallery by Picturesurf

Check it out! Today I’m just showing off my wildflower photos, but this photo gallery is going to help me get my concert reviews up faster, and I’ll be able to display more photos without overwhelming the page. Just in time for Coachella! I had a lot of help from the author of the plugin, Denis Zenkovich, and also from an unknown technician from my host site, who caught an incorrect setting that was causing an issue. Just click any photo to start the slideshow.

Berkeley Place has been running a Nirvana Diaspora series this week, featuring rarities, covers, and all things related to the group. You gotta hear Dave Grohl’s overblown parody of Creed’s “Arms Wide Open.” Grohl is droll.

The Good, The Bad, and the Unknown lists the 111 Best Indie Albums of All Time. Excellent work. See if you agree with the selection and order.

Lonesome Music posts a tribute to Utah Phillips.

Lost In Your Inbox posts three truly amazing and gorgeous tunes this morning.

Yesterday I posted a song by the Bloody Beetroots, who’ll be performing at Coachella. Go to Rock Sellout to see a video of “Warp” and hear another song.

Nat at Mini-Obs has a quiz for you: the Top 5 songs you wish you’d never heard. OK, I’ll have to think about that, but I know that Pink Floyd’s “Money” and that awful thing “Brick House” are in there. Sorry, Floyd fans.

Here’s music I do like: at Cerulean’s Love of Music I discovered songs by The Aimless Never Miss and East Hundred. I need to find out more about those. I also like the song by Wintermitts; I just haven’t worked it into one of my own posts yet. So much music! So little time!

First two dandy remixes by My Dear Disco. I am thinking it’s pretty hard to improve on anything from Franz Ferdinand’s new album, Tonight, but I’ll give MDD props for trying. And the Kanye West is very tasty indeed.

I’m a huge Floyd fan, and I don’t even care for “Money!” It’s so out of whack on that album!

  2. indie.mom says:

Money is my least favorite song of all time.
