People in general like to believe that some essence of themselves or loved ones continues after death. For some, ghosts provide both reassurance and fear. The Deadly Syndrome think it wouldn’t be so bad to be a ghost, but Armor For Sleep think it sounds lonely.

The Ghost Orchid of San Diego are a little hard to track down online due to a CD of supposedly paranormal recordings that goes by the same name, a novel, a movie (Adaptation, starring Nick Cage and Meryl Streep) and the actual ghost orchid plant, but their beautiful ambient music is worth looking for. This one is not on the CD, and I am sorry, but I don’t know where to buy it.

I got this one and the Armor For Sleep song from Music Under Fire last year, and I have come to really like both of them. Umbrellas music is best purchased from their own website, but you can play samples at the link to CD Universe below.

Thanks for the mention - We’re trying to get another mix up this year, but as you know time is such a hard thing to come by these days. The Royal Bangs song you posted on your first mix was one we already had set for our list - such a great band (as well as many others you’ve listed here!) Nice work…

Thanks! Yes, it does take time, and I have posted more frequently this week than I have in months. I remember last year you had such a great mix with lots and lots of songs. As I have gathered my songs for this mix–inspired by the fact that some young friends of mine are actually having a Halloween party–I have revisited a bunch I got from you. Keep up the great work! I will have to come over and see what you have found that will be new for me.
